Who it’s for
Portuguese for your life in Brazil
Brazilian Portuguese has its own pronunciation, vocabulary and expressions, different from those used in Portugal. This course teaches the Portuguese spoken in Brazil, the same Portuguese you hear in Guarulhos: at work, on the street and in stores.
Studies
To follow classes, read texts and give presentations at a Brazilian school or university.
Everyday life in Brazil
To go to the supermarket, the bank and the doctor, rent an apartment and talk with your neighbors without needing a translator.
Celpe-Bras
For people who need Brazil’s official Portuguese proficiency certificate for foreigners, earned through an exam administered by Inep. The course builds the skills the exam assesses. preparo: a confirmar

FAQ
Before you book your 2 free classes
How much does the Portuguese course at Wizard Guarulhos cost?
The price depends on the plan and how often you take classes. The location will present the options during your two free classes.
Are classes in person or online?
Classes are 100% online and live, with a teacher, and nothing is pre-recorded. You join from your computer or phone, wherever you are.
Are there free Portuguese classes for foreigners?
At Wizard, your first two classes are free, so you can meet your mentor teacher and try the method before you decide. After that, the course is paid. The difference between a class with a teacher and a free app or video is conversation: your teacher corrects your pronunciation, answers your questions as they come up and follows your progress.
Do I need to know any Portuguese before I start?
No. The course starts at the beginner level, and you practice speaking from your very first class.
Does the teacher speak English or Spanish?
a confirmar: o professor ou a recepção atendem em inglês ou espanhol?
How long does it take to learn Portuguese?
You start speaking in your first class. The course length and weekly schedule are a confirmar. The time it takes to become fluent depends on how often you take classes, how much you practice between classes and your native language: Spanish speakers usually progress faster at the beginning. That is why we do not promise a timeline.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. When you complete each module, you receive a Wizard certificate, which shows that you have completed the module. It does not replace the Celpe-Bras certificate, from Brazil’s official Portuguese proficiency exam for foreigners, administered by Inep.
Does the course prepare me for the Celpe-Bras?
The Celpe-Bras is Brazil’s official Portuguese proficiency exam for foreigners, administered by Inep. a confirmar: a escola prepara para a prova?
Can I use this course for Brazilian naturalization?
The Wizard certificate is not one of the documents accepted in the naturalization process. For ordinary naturalization, Brazil’s Ministry of Justice accepts, as proof that you can communicate in Portuguese, specific documents, such as the Celpe-Bras certificate and a certificate from a Portuguese course for immigrants completed at a higher education institution accredited by the Ministry of Education (MEC), among others. Wizard is a language school, not a higher education institution. See the full, up-to-date list on the Ministry of Justice website (in Portuguese).
Are course materials included?
Yes. The materials are delivered to your home.
What is the minimum age?
Our Portuguese classes for foreigners are for teens and adults, starting at age a confirmar.
